The Results Are In. The Problem Is Real.

"We can, whenever and wherever we choose, educate all children whose schooling is of interest to us.  We already know more than we need to do it.   Whether or not we do finally depends upon how we feel about the fact that we haven't thus far."  Ron Edmonds, Educator.

Fixing the problem of low test scores, increasing drop-out rates and the widening academic achievement gap among African American and Hispanic students is very doable.

The question is:
"What are we as a society willing to sacrifice to get the job done for our youth?" Or, should we even be concerned with the issues they will face in the years to come? If not us, who?  If not now, when?

According to A.C. Nielson, the average American watches 151 hours of television per month. The average amount of time it takes to mentor a child is one hour per week.  Entertainment for yourself. Or, education for a generation.
